Sauvignon yes, but chardonnay performs well for modern tastes, and note the other grapes. | Viognier shines from Yalumba (rest of world, note please), and other classy whites. |
| | Too dear mostly. But Sainstbury wins friends, and new Canoe Ridge is great! 'Spose I could have got in some Blossom Hill! |
Bodegas Norton - very impressive estate. | Some carefully chosen stuff. |
Excellent (!) pinot grigio, and a bit besides, but only if they justify their place in the world. | Just a couple from Dr. Loosen, one of the World greats! |
One local vineyard - very very decent. | If the Spanish reds excite, the whites amaze! But you customers don't seem quite so sure! And do try a new Portuguese vinho verde, from an enterprising grower, who just appeared at my door one day, brandishing samples. |
New wines only get here on merit. Alsace still shines, but will you buy it. Heck, no. | |
